He also was recognized as one of the “best lawyers in the business” in the state by his peers and was named a “Difference Maker” by the American Bar Association in November.
His law firm, Galanda Broadman PLLC, was listed by Lawyers of Color in its Big Book of the Best Boutiques, a national listing of the top minority law firms in each state.
A graduate of Port Angeles High School, Galanda earned his associate degree from Peninsula College, his bachelor's from Western Washington University and his law degree from the University of Arizona.
His firm, with offices in Seattle and Bend, Ore., represents tribal governments, businesses and members in critical litigation, business and regulatory matters, especially in matters of Native American treaty rights, tribal sovereignty and taxation.
