Meyer, whose "Twilight" books inspired a series of movies and built a worldwide following, set the fictional vampires-vs.-werewolves novels in Forks and environs.
It is Meyer's first known visit to Forks since before the "Twilight" series hit it big.
The author is visiting the Forks Visitor Center and will receive a proclamation from Forks Mayor Bryon Monohan this afternoon, a source told the PDN.
