Huizinga quits Sequim City Council
SEQUIM — Veteran City Councilman Bill Huizinga has resigned his City Council post, telling City Hall by letter that he has moved outside the city limit.
“I have enjoyed working with staff and council people over the years and will always treasure this time in my life,” Huizinga stated in his letter.
Huizinga has served on the City Council since March 2001, when he was appointed. He was first elected to the council in 2002 and was subsequently elected in 2006 and 2010.
The vacancy will be filled by appointment. The term will expire December 31, 2013.
