EYE ON CLALLAM: Port Angeles to hold power rate hearings

The Port Angeles City Council will conduct the second of two public hearings before considering changes to the city’s industrial electricity transmission wholesale power rate ordinance when it meets Wednesday.

The public hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. at the meeting that is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in City Council chambers, 321 E. Fifth St.

The council usually meets on Tuesdays, but the date was changed because of the New Year’s Day holiday.

The council also will consider a settlement agreement with Krei Architecture concerning claims filed in connection with The Gateway transit center.

It also is scheduled to vote on a proposed 9-1-1 misuse ordinance.

Olympic Area Agency on Aging

The Olympic Area Agency on Aging Council of Governments will consider approval of the 2013 Older Americans Act contract and election of officers when it meets Thursday.

The meeting of the group based at 11700 Rhody Drive in Port Hadlock will be at 10 a.m. via conference call.

The Olympic Area Agency on Aging covers Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties.

The group’s advisory council will meet Jan. 15 at the Shelton Civic Center in Shelton.

Clallam County

Clallam County commissioners will have no meetings this week because of the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day holiday.

Most offices in the Clallam County Courthouse will be closed on Monday bcause of a furlough day.

The entire courthouse will be closed on Tuesday for New Year’s Day.

The next Board of County Commissioners meeting will be a work session on Jan. 7.

Public utility district

The Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners’ meeting for Monday has been canceled.

The next meeting will be on Jan. 7.

Planning commission

The Clallam County Planning Commission meeting for Wednesday has been canceled.

The commission will reconvene on Jan. 16.
