SEQUIM — A series of free art demonstrations — from weaving to sketching to quilting — starts today at the Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St.

Everyone is invited to the first demo this afternoon, featuring Rebecca Wallace showing how to use a loom to weave lavender sticks. Wallace will be at the museum from noon to 3 p.m.

Free admission

There’s no admission charge, but a $2 donation is suggested at the museum, also known as the MAC.

Next up with a demo of botanical sketching is illustrator Iris Edey from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25.

Then on Sunday, May 26, Paulette Hill will give a demonstration of bead stitching and pendant wire-wrapping from noon to 3 p.m.

The Friendship Quilters will offer a quilt-making demo from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18.

During these events, the MAC will provide light refreshments. Visitors also are invited to enjoy the museum’s displays of local art and history.

For information or to conduct an art demonstration, phone MAC manager Steph Ellyas at 360-683-8110 or email steph@macsequim.org.
