PORT TOWNSEND — A new fabric store will host a grand opening this weekend.
District Fabric, 634 Water St. in downtown Port Townsend, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and have its grand opening party from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the Port Townsend Gallery Walk.
“We specialize in apparel fabrics, and we do lots of natural fibers like wools, silks and cottons, fibers that are getting hard to find even in the big cities,” store owner Ashley Portilla said.
Regular hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except when it’s closed on Thursdays and Sundays, Portilla said.
“There is no rule,” Portilla said. “You can use the fabric for anything, even though we market ourselves as an apparel store.”
