PORT ANGELES — Grocery Outlet Bargain Market has opened its newest location at 2823 E. U.S. Highway 101 in Port Angeles, creating 35 new jobs.
“We are overjoyed to be a part of the Port Angeles community and be able to provide big savings on quality groceries,” said John and Melanie Gratton, who operate the Port Angeles store.
“This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs, and more importantly, give back to our local community.”
Grocery Outlet, open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., offers the same brands as traditional grocery stores, but at lower prices, the company said. Its buyers stock the outlets with excess inventory and seasonal closeouts of manufacturers.
The Grattons also have presented a donation of $1,000 to the Olympic Peninsula Alpaca Rescue, whose mission is to provide a safe haven, rehabilitation center and rehoming program for camelids while promoting educational and therapy programs targeting youth, disabled and veteran clientele.
Grocery Outlet also operates a store in Sequim at 1045 W. Washington St.
Grocery Outlet, based in Emeryville, Calif., has more than 375 locations throughout California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington. Stores are owned by independent operators based in the communities they serve.
Grocery Outlet offers a full range of products including fresh produce, meat, deli and dairy, along with a wide assortment of natural and organic choices and beer, wine, health and beauty care and seasonal items.
