Kitsap Bank donates to regional nonprofits

PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap Bank recently announced the donation of $15,000 to nonprofits on the Kitsap and North Olympic Peninsulas.

The Valentine’s Day donations are part of the bank’s Making A Difference (MAD) for Our Local Community program.

Under the program, for every hour one of its employees volunteered with a local nonprofit, the bank donates money to a nonprofit of their choice.

According to a press release, bank employees performed more than 4,400 hours of volunteer work during 2019.

Nonprofit organizations that benefited from the donations are Bremerton Foodline, Coffee Oasis, Dove House Advocacy Services, Habitat of East Jefferson County, Habitat of Kitsap County, Harbor Wildwatch, Holly Ridge Center, Housing Resources Bainbridge, Jumping Mouse, Kitsap Humane Society, Kitsap Mental Health, Martha and Mary, Meals on Wheels Kitsap, North Kitsap Fishline, Northwest Furniture Bank, Olympic College Foundation, Olympic Peninsula Humane Society, Port Orchard Bay Street Association, Peninsula Behavioral Health, The HUB – Faith in Action and the Virginia Mason Foundation.
