PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center recognized eight members of its laundry service for their response during a fire in the center’s laundry facility.
The staff members honored are Blanca DeLeon, Sena Bradow, Minda Dugan, Evelia Jacoba-Sanchez, Ketta Ketchum, Katherine Richison, Cameron VanWinkle and Sonya Woolsey.
The employees quickly reacted to a June fire in a 1961 Mangle machine, preventing the fire from spreading throughout the facility, according to a press release.
They also kept the hospital supplied with clean linens while the damaged machine was repaired.
“The appreciation that I have for this team is beyond any words and so much more than a thank you will express,” said Jennifer Burkhardt, chief human resource officer and general counsel.
