The Peninsula College Medical Assisting Program recently announced that five of its recent graduates have scored in the top 1 percent on the national Certified Medical Assistant exam offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Corenna Klimp, pictured left, scored 751 on the exam, the highest score in the history of Peninsula College’s medical assisting program. According to a press release, the exam is considered the gold standard for medical assistant certification and is recognized in all 50 states. The state of Washington recognizes four other exams for licensing medical assistants, but only those who pass the CMA exam may use the title “Certified Medical Assistant.” For more information on the medical assisting program, call Rachel Pairsh at 360-417-6414 or email rpairsh@pencol.edu.
