Port Townsend meadery earns awards

Mead Werks earns honors at the 2019 Mead Crafters Competition

LONGMONT, Colo. — Port Townsend meadery Mead Werks at Wilderbee Farm earned honors for several of its meads at the 2019 Mead Crafters Competition held during October in Longmont, Colo.

The meadery’s Brother Adam barrel-aged mead earned a Gold Medal in the Traditional Dry category.

Its Happy Meadium mead earned a Silver Medal, and its Nefarious After Dark bourbon-barrel aged mead earned a Bronze Medal.

According to a press release, more than 340 meads from across the country were submitted for judging in the inaugural competition, sponsored by the National Honey Board.

The Mead Werks is open from noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at Wilderbee Farm, 223 Cook Ave., Port Townsend.
