The Internal Revenue Service will provide a free webinar to explain its tax withholding estimator at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The online class is scheduled to last two hours.
According to a press release, the estimator is a mobile-friendly, online tool that helps taxpayers to find out how much income tax should be withheld from their wages to avoid a large tax bill at the end of the year.
The estimator is on the IRS website at www.irs.gov/payments/ tax-withholding.
The IRS recommends the tool for taxpayers who:
• Have a two-income family.
• Work two or more jobs at the same time or only work part of the year.
• Claim credits like the Child Tax Credit.
• Have dependents age 17 or older.
• Itemized deductions in the past.
• Have high income or a complex tax return.
• Had a large tax refund or tax bill for 2018.
