SEQUIM — Ken Berkes, Interim Olympic Medical Cancer Center director, has announced the promotions of two staff members for leadership positions at the center.
Oncology certified nurse Katie Orth has assumed the role of nurse manager at Olympic Medical Cancer Center, 844 N. Fifth Ave.
Orth, with OMC since 2008, will oversee clinical services including infusion, medical and radiation oncology nursing, medical assistants and patient navigation.
“Katie is no stranger to oncology nurse leadership, having served as an infusion supervisor and as a credentialed trainer during our transition to Epic, our electronic health records system,” Berkes said.
Chief radiation therapist Neil McIlmoil has accepted into the role of radiation oncology manager as well as chief therapist. McIlmoil joined OMC in 2015. He oversees radiation oncology treatments and operations and has assumed responsibility for tumor registry and front office functions at the cancer center.
Prior to joining OMC, McIlmoil managed multiple radiation therapy centers in California.
“Neil has distinguished himself with a direct, caring approach which builds team and supports the patient experience,” Berkes said.
