Peninsula public schools resuming classes

Three North Olympic Peninsula public school districts have already resumed classes after summer break while others will open to students next week after the Labor Day holiday on Monday.

All public school districts will be closed on Monday.

Crescent School District in Joyce began school on Monday, Aug. 28 for grades first through 12. The first day of kindergarten was on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Brinnon and Quilcene school districts also resumed classes Monday.

Four districts will resume classes on Tuesday. They are Port Angeles, Port Townsend, and Chimacum districts as well as the Quillayute Valley School District in Forks.

Sequim School District has scheduled the first day of classes on Wednesday for grades first through 12. Kindergarten classes will begin Sept. 11.

Cape Flattery School District will resume classes on Wednesday.
