Art, music at 2FAR tonight in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — 2nd Friday Art Rock will emerge from the backwoods at 9 tonight at Bar N9NE with artist Sarah Tucker and the Backwoods Hucksters.

A $3 cover charge will help support the musicians and artists at the bar at 229 W. First St.

Tucker is no stranger to 2FAR. According to organizers, she has put together some of the most memorable live art performances on record.

She plans to provide the viewer a new perspective by painting from “behind the canvas,” applying acrylic to plexiglass and seated so the audience is able to view the process from a different angle.

Guitarist and singer Cort Armstrong has put together several bands throughout the years, but the Backwoods Hucksters is going to be his best ever at 2FAR, organizers said.

With lead musicians from the Seattle area and a rhythm section from the Olympic Peninsula, the Hucksters weave together bluegrass, country, folk, rock and country blues into a tapestry of music best called mountain blues.
