PORT ANGELES — Cherie Kidd will address a luncheon meeting of Soroptimist International of Port Angeles at noon today.
The public is invited to attend the luncheon to be held at Joshua’s Restaurant, 113 S. Del Guzzi Drive.
Kidd, a Port Angeles City Council member, won the Ms. Senior USA Pageant in Las Vegas last month.
Lunch is available for purchase; a minimum charge of $4 will be charged for beverages and the venue.
Storytime on the road
PORT ANGELES — The Summer Reading Program will take Storytime on the road at 10:30 a.m. today.
Attendees can meet firefighters and learn about fire safety at the Port Angeles Fire Department, 102 E. Fifth St.
The free early literacy program is designed for children up to 5 years old and their adult caregivers.
Storytime sessions feature singing, reading, talking, playing and writing.

PORT ANGELES — Students from the Spanish 3 Class at Crescent High School will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts Saturday.
Starting at 8 a.m., doughnuts will be available at Sergio’s Hacienda, 205 E. Eighth St. Other students from the class will sell doughnuts at the Lower Elwha Food and Fuel, 4773 S. Dry Creek Road, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Sales will continue while supplies last.
The proceeds of the sale will support the class’ 2020 trip to Costa Rica.

Open house
PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Genealogical Society will host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The open house will be at the society’s research center, 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Summer concert
PORT ANGELES — Sway will perform at Olympic Cellars Winery at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The performance is part of the Summer Concert series at the winery at 255410 U.S. Highway 101.
Admission is $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Season passes for the six remaining concerts are available for $75.

There will be barbecue available, courtesy of WindSong Charters.
Calm Waters provides fishing events for alumni of the Wounded Warrior Project and for the residents of Sarge’s Place Homeless Veteran Program.
A portion of the money raised will be used to cover expenses for the event and the remainder will be used for activities and holiday gift bags and meals for local homeless Veterans’ shelters.

Elks Bingo
SEQUIM — Sequim Elks will host bingo games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and Thursday.
Games will be at the Sequim Elks lodge, 143 Port Williams Road.

At 2:30 p.m. the center will present “Star Search” followed by “Worldwide Stars” at 3:15 p.m. for children 8 to 12 years old.
