BRINNON — The Second Annual Celebrate Brinnon! festival is planned at Whitney Gardens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The 7-acre Whitney Gardens and Nursery at 306264 U.S. Highway 101 will offer free admission to the festival. The gardens feature plants, shrubs, water features and trees determined to be the oldest living specimens in the state.
Visitors will find a lunch buffet, local musicians, a silent auction and informational discussions on the resident elk herd, local geology and updated Brinnon development plans.
The silent auction will feature a week of Marriott vacation club, locally grown garlic, services such as a holistic pet treatment and IT consultation and many special finds and bargains.
The festival is sponsored by the Brinnon Group, which accepts donations to pay for legal fees incurred during appeals of plans for the Pleasant Habor Master Planned Resourt at Black Point.
The group says on its website at www.brinnongroup.org that the appeals led to upgrades of the resort.
