Centrum’s Port Townsend Ukulele Festival offers concert

PORT TOWNSEND — The seventh gathering of Centrum’s Port Townsend Ukulele Festival and Workshop drew some 137 performers for classes and musicmaking — and the public can hear the instructors perform tonight.

Tickets are $25 to tonight’s Ukulele Jackpot show at 7:30 at the Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden.

The Saturday show, Ukulele Goldmine, is sold-out.

The workshop, which began Wednesday, offered a variety of styles – jazz, blues, swing, Hawaiian, pop, novelty and jugband ukulele.

Today, instructors Kevin Carroll, Jason Arimoto, Gerald Ross, Aaron and Nicole Keim and The Canote Brothers will perform.

Saturday’s show will feature Sarah Maisel and Craig Chee, Daniel Ward and Heidi Swedberg, Eve Goldberg, Adam Franklin, Del Rey and Casey MacGill.
