PORT ANGELES — First Presbyterian Church will host a concert at 7 tonight to benefit the Port Angeles High School choir and the Crescent High School Spanish program.
Doors will open at the church at 138 W. Eighth St. at 6:30 p.m.
Admission will be by a $15 suggested donation; $10 for students.
Homemade baked goods will be available for purchase at intermission.
Award-winning Port Angeles High School musicians Karson Nicpon, Evan Cobb and Adam and Emma Weller will perform classical music.
State-bound mezzo-soprano Madelynne Jones also will perform.
The singer-songwriter father-daughter duo of Dan and Katie Cobb (performing as Fools’ Gold) will perform some of their original pieces, as well as their folksy take on some well-known favorites.
Local favorite Jimmy Hoffman, a Crescent High School graduate, will round out the concert with country music.
Concert proceeds will support the PAHS choir trip to New York City on April 2-7, and the Crescent High School Spanish trip to Costa Rica in April 2020.
Two students from each high school will talk briefly about themselves and the importance of their trips.
Those who attend the concert will get an added bonus, thanks to the generosity of Nemesis Productions: a taste of the recent original musical comedy that was performed at the Lincoln Theater in December: “Snow White and the Five Housemates.”
