Craft fairs, markets on Peninsula this weekend

Craft fairs, markets and gift wrapping services will be available across the North Olympic Peninsula this weekend.

CHIMACUM

• The Salish Sea Makers Market will conduct its Farmers’ Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The fair will be at Chimacum Grange, 9572 Rhody Drive, Chimacum.

In addition to a group of artists and makers from around the area, there will be a local coffee roaster.

Attendees will be able to enjoy warm drinks, hot fresh doughnuts, live music and holiday shopping.

• The 37th Chimacum Arts and Crafts Fair will open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The annual fair will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road, Chimacum.

The fair will feature more than 95 artisans selling jewelry, handcrafted home decor, textiles, wreaths, pottery, woodwork and original art.

Additionally, youth and community groups will raise funds for their programs, including 4H clubs, The Gathering Place and the Rotary’s annual pictures with Santa.

The fair also will offer the Kids Christmas Shop, where kids can shop independently of their grownups in a supported environment.

The culinary arts class from Chimacum High School will serve hot soup and grilled sandwiches out of their FEED Truck.

The truck, which debuted at last year’s fair, is the state’s first student-run food truck enterprise.

All proceeds from the event will benefit unfunded programs within the community, ensuring students have access to enriching educational experiences.

Proceeds from past fairs have been invested in sports uniforms, art supplies, field trips, library collections, weight room equipment, teen center programs and school gardens.

PORT ANGELES

• The Kindred Holiday Market will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The market will be in the Home Arts Building at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
