PORT TOWNSEND — The deadline for entries in the 10th annual Port Townsend Wearable Art Show is midnight Sunday.
Reserved seating tickets are on sale now at brownpapertickets.com for the show at Fort Worden State Park’s McCurdy Pavilion on May 9.
Reserved seats start at $35 for the two shows: a 2 p.m. matinee and a 7 p.m. performance.
The Wearable Art Show is the sole fundraiser for the Jefferson County Fund for Women and Girls.
The volunteers of the Wearable Art Show committee encourage entries not only from professional artists, but also from people of all ages and walks of life.
The show earlier this year gathered 50 entries from creators across North America and awarded more than $5,000 in prizes, they said.
Models of works of wearable art — essentially sculptures on the full length of the human body — will strut down the lighted runway during the two shows the Saturday before Mother’s Day.
Models and other volunteers — to do set-up, ushering, hair and makeup — are needed to make the Wearable Art Show happen, organizers said.
The 2020 show, marking the fundraiser’s first decade, will showcase a set of legacy pieces from previous years.
