Erwin Dence to speak on writing, art influences

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Public Library will host Erwin Dence at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.

Dence will discuss how surfing has influenced his art and his writing over the years.

Dence, a former columnist for the Port Townsend Leader, is working on a novel called “Swamis,” set in southern California during 1969.
