First concert in Acoustic Blues Festival set Wednesday

PORT TOWNSEND — Got the summer blues?

The Acoustic Blues Festival might be the solution to your prognosis.

The first performance of Centrum’s festival will feature hill country blues and zydeco dance at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McCurdy Pavilion. General admission costs $20.

The performers include Alvin Youngblood Hart, Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, Leroy Etienne and the Blues Faculty All-Star Band.

The festival’s biggest lineup will be saved for the “Acoustic Blues Showcase” on Saturday, Aug. 5.

For a full list of performances, visit centrum.org/port-townsend-acoustic-blues-festival-performances.

The festival is considered the largest gathering of country blues performers in the U.S.

Mainstage shows cap off Centrum’s week of instruction for about 250 acoustic blues students.
