Five Acre School Barn Dance set for Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Five Acre School will host its 14th Barn Dance from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

The annual dance is at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St. in Port Angeles.

Tickets are $25 per person and are available online at www.thebarndance.org or at the door; youths 12 and younger are admitted free.

The dance begins at 2 p.m. with family entertainment including a petting zoo, the Kids Zone, professional family photos and, at 3 p.m. on the main stage, a performance by Harmonica Pocket, followed by the Five Acre School’s marimba band, Sound Waves, at 4:30 p.m.

The festivities will span two of the fairgrounds’ exposition halls and will include a bake sale, a silent auction, dancing and food from Pacific Pantry and the Goat & Radish.

The saloon opens at 4 p.m., serving beer from Angeles Brewing, wines from Harbinger Winery, Ciders from Finnriver Farm and Cidery and seltzers from Goodness Tea.

The Backwood Hucksters, a country blues and bluegrass band, will take the main stage at 6 p.m.

They will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by Kalan Wolfe and the Shift, providing a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and hip-hop music.

Proceeds from the dance will go toward the Five Acre School tuition assistance and school facility improvement.
