Five Acre School offers day full of entertainment

PORT ANGELES — The Five Acre School Barn Dance will offer a full day of entertainment from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, an afternoon of family fun followed by an evening for dancing.

Activities will be at the Clallam County Fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., the focus will be on family entertainment acts and children’s activities. At 5 p.m., the saloon will open to serve local beer, wine and cider. From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. will be the evening entertainment with bands and dancing.

Tickets for the full event are $18 in advance at www.thebarndance.org and $25 at the door. The family event only tickets are $6. Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.

The event also will feature a raffle.

Previous years’ attendance estimates have averaged around 1,200 people, according to a press release.

Here is the entertainment lineup:

• Jeff Evans Magic Show: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

• Alex Zerbe “The Zaniac” Comedy Show: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Sound Waves Marimba Band: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

• Sweater Weather: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• Backwoods Hucksters: 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Pacific Pantry and Ulivo Pizzeria will offer food. Beers from Port Townsend Brewing Co., wines from Harbinger Winery, ciders from Finnriver and non-alcoholic beverages will be served at the saloon starting at 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event go toward the Five Acre School tuition assistance and special equipment fund. The Five Acre School and The Five Acre School PSO are both 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
