Fourth Fridays readings showcased tonight in Sequim

SEQUIM — Writers on the Spit will host open mic readings this evening, showcasing the poetry, “short-short” stories and memoir excerpts of local wordsmiths.

Free to all, including those who simply wish to listen, the five-minute timed open mic readings start at 6:30 p.m. at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Way.

Writers of all calibers can bring their words to the table.

“Whether you’re ‘becoming’ a writer or are a seasoned writer, you are welcome to sign in,” Linda B. Meyers said in a news release.

For open mic guidelines, email Meyers at myerslindab@gmail.com. Writers are encouraged to rehearse before taking the mic.

For snacks and beverages, arrive early at The Bistro and then take your pick of seats in the media room. Published writers can bring their books to sell before or after the readings.

“Inevitably the evening is memorable — a great way to meet writers from around the [North Olympic] Peninsula,” Meyers said.
