PORT TOWNSEND — Northwind Art School will open for a free Creative Work/Playtime Studio for collage making and other art projects from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Local artist Glo Lamson will host the open studio in Northwind’s Building 324 at Fort Worden State Park.
“It’s an afternoon for working on any art project, as well as art play time for adults,” Northwind spokesperson Diane Urbani said.
“You can dig into the collage materials and art supplies at Northwind, bring whatever creative materials you want to work with, or mix and match,” Urbani added.
Lamson, known in the community for her positive energy, added that people can spend the entire afternoon, pop in and out, or just stop by, check it out and say hello.
“Come with an idea of something you want to do or make, or let the moment and the community environment inspire you,” Lamson said.
“You never know what might show up when you give yourself time and space to explore.”
Admission is free, while donations, which are optional, will go toward Northwind Art School’s scholarship fund. Whenever possible, the nonprofit art school provides financial aid to youngsters and adults in its classes.
