Green thumb lecture

PORT ANGELES — Muriel Nesbitt will present “Mycorrhizae” at noon Thursday.

This week’s Green Thumb Garden Tips lecture will be viewable only by live stream from the county commissioners’ chamber.

Nesbitt will discuss the importance of mycorrhizae to plant nutrition, soil biology and soil chemistry and why mycorrhizal plants are often more resistant to soil-borne pathogens, insects and soil toxicity.

To view the lecture, visit www.tinyurl.com/PDN-Mycorrhizae then click on the “Video” link when it appears next to the lecture.

According to a press release, future Green Thumb Garden Tips lectures will continue to be available online even after the current health crisis is resolved.

For more information, call the county extension at 360-565-2679 or visit extension.wsu.edu/clallam.
