Grange hall hosts Irish music

PORT TOWNSEND — Quimper Grange plans a concert of traditional Irish music at 7 p.m. tonight.

The show at the grange hall, 1219 Corona St., in Port Townsend, features fiddle player Gerry O’Connor and guitarist Richard Mandel. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is $20. Masks and proof of vaccination are required.

O’Connor has performed and recorded with his bands La Lugh, Skylark, Oirialla, as well as the Irish Rovers, Chieftains, and Bothy Band. He has won fiddle competitions, teaches fiddle playing and builds fiddles.

He is accompanied on a U.S. tour by Mandel, who has accompanied many other well-known Irish artists, organizers said.
