PORT HADLOCK — Hadlock Block Party will celebrate Port Hadlock beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Vendors will be centered near Ferino’s Pizza and Hadlock Veterinary Clinic, offering food and other items for sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Rotary Club of East Jefferson County will coordinate the parade, which will begin at noon at Church Street and proceed through the center of downtown Port Hadlock, ending at Christney Street.
New this year will be music in the beer garden at Ferino’s, featuring a harpist in the morning and Buck Ellard playing two sets throughout the day.
The Valley Tavern will host a Keg Toss at 2 p.m. It will close out the evening with a performance by the Dukes of Dabob starting at 6 p.m.
The Old Alcohol Plant will host a Mustang car show following the parade, plus barbecue and a beer garden with music by the Eagle Mountain String Band from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Later that night, Bread and Gravy will wrap up their “Jefferson County Tour” with a performance in Spirits Bar & Grill starting at 7 p.m.
The Station Signs and Screen Printing, which helped coin the Block Party’s “We Are Who We Are” tagline, will again have event logo T-shirts available for purchase at its booth.
Other activities include a rescue dog demonstration, a pie-face fundraiser and programming by Discovery Bay Wild Bird Rescue & Search.
Presented by IDGAF construction company, Dan Anderson Trucking and MJ Trucking, the Hadlock Block Party is coordinated by representatives from local businesses, including Ferino’s Pizza, the Valley Tavern, The Station Signs, Kitsap Credit Union, Hadlock Building Supply, the Old Alcohol Plant and the Rotary Club of East Jefferson County.
The event committee works year-round to produce a grassroots community event, orgnaizers said.
