CHIMACUM — The seventh annual Inter-Dependence Day Party will celebrate the Chimacum community with live music, square dancing, a talent show, an outdoor movie and food vendors on Saturday at Finniver Farm &Cidery.
The Chimacum Corner Store started the tradition in 2011, and now the party occurs every summer at Finnriver’s orchard. This year, the event lasts from noon to 9 p.m. at 124 Center Road.
Admission is free, but donations to Chimacum Youth Programs are encouraged.
The square dance with Wild Phil and the Buffalo Gals takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Then, the community talent show recruits some local skill from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In previous years, the talent show has featured whistlers, singers, joke-tellers, hula-hoopers, poets, dancers and jugglers of all ages.
At 9 p.m., the Caribe Steel Band will bring the sounds of the Caribbean — reggae, calypso, soca and samba — to the farm.
When the sun goes down, the movie projector will come out for a screening of “Shaun the Sheep Movie.”
