PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble will host a Winter Quarter Concert in Maier Performance Hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
“This will be our second concert in Maier Performance Hall since the start of the COVID pandemic and we are striving to make it as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible,” said David Jones, ensemble member and director.
“Our first post-COVID show in December went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all.”
The ensemble will play music by Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Oliver, Benny Carter, Duke Jordan, Matt Dennis, Hank Mobley, Sonny Clark, Daniel Berry and a world premiere by Jones.
The performers in this band represent some from across the North Olympic Peninsula has to offer.
From Port Angeles are Richard “Doc” Thorson (tenor sax), Jim Bradbury (trumpet), Ken Young (trumpet), Marge Rosen (drum set), Max Larsen (bass) and David Jones (keyboards/director).
From Sequim are Jeff Dingle (trombone), Kendall Melton (bass), and Elaine Gardner-Morales (bass).
John Adams (alto sax + bass clarinet) hails from Port Townsend.
