Lady Washington in Port Townsend this weekend

PORT TOWNSEND — The tall ship Lady Washington is available for dockside tours and sails this weekend.

The tall ship, part of the Washington-based nonprofit Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, is docked at the North west Maritime Center, 431 Water St., through Monday.

It will be closed Monday before it leaves for Port Ludlow on Tuesday.

It will dock in the Port Ludlow Marina on Wednesday along with the Hawaiian Cheftain and will remain there through May 14.

The Lady Washington and Hawaiian Cheftain sail to various destinations in the region each year offering educational programs, free deck tours and sailing excursions.

This visit, the Lady Washington is traveling alone.

Ticketed Adventure and Evening sails cost between $42 and $49. Battle Sales, planned only in Port Ludlow, are $42 to $79.

Special rates apply on Mother’s Day, May 13.

Launched in 1989 in Aberdeen, Lady Washington is the official ambassador of the state of Washington and a replica of the original vessel of the same name, the first American ship to make landfall on the West Coast.

 Today: Vessel tours from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

 Saturday: Vessel tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Adventure Sail from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Evening Sail from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 Sunday: Vessel tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Adventure Sail from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

 Monday: Lady Washington closed.

 Tuesday: Passage from Port Townsend to Port Ludlow.

 Sunday, May 13: Vessel tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Mother’s Day Adventure Sail from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($5 to $49); Battle Sail from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. ($5 to $79).

 Monday, May 14: Boats closed.

 Tuesday, May 15: Lady Washington leaves Port Ludlow for Port Orchard with passage available for $99; Hawaiian Chieftain leaves Port Ludlow for Coupeville, with passage available for $130.
