Learning our landscape series online

BLYN — Sarah Sterling will present “Learning Our Landscape: Landscape and Occupational History at č̕ixʷícən” at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The free, online presentation is sponsored by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library in collaboration with the North Olympic Historical Society.

Sterling will discuss archaeological, geological, and Native American oral historical evidence of tsunami focusing on her excavations of the Klallam village č̕ixʷícən on the shoreline of Port Angeles Harbor.

Sterling is an adjunct assistant professor of anthropology at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.
