Music of the Salish Sea at Wheeler Theater

PORT TOWNSEND — Audiences are invited to sing, dance and laugh along with nationally acclaimed comedy educator and performer Billy “Billy B” Brennan as he takes the stage for a one-night-only performance Tuesday.

Billy B’s musical performance, sponsored by Centrum and Fort Worden, is inspired by the Salish Sea. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph F. Wheeler Theater.

Tickets are $13 and available online at centrum.org or at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Brennan’s musical parodies reflect an unrivaled intellect in his thought-and-laughter-provoking lyrics, organizers said.

Through his musical works, he addresses contemporary concerns in creative ways, they said.

Worldwide science museums, environmental education and performance organizations have enlisted Brennan’s talents to create themed songs and performances.

To date, he maintains a repertoire of 13 original productions that employ the sounds of funk, reggae, salsa, rockabilly, hip hop, folk rock and hard rock and encourage audience participation.

Brennan’s blend of environmental science and entertainment got its start in 1977 when he was studying to be a teacher as an education major and a dance minor at the University of Wisconsin. He later honed his skills as a street performer and musician in Europe.
