PORT ANGELES — It didn’t take long for Mary Comeau to fill every empty artist space in her new gallery, One of a Kind.
Before advertising of any kind, word of mouth spread across Port Angeles.
But for those who have yet to see the newest gallery at The Landing mall, visitors will be treated to an all-day grand opening Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Inside, jewelry, pottery, woodwork, stained glass, original paintings, photography, prints and cards await.
The grand opening also comes at a provident time: the unveiling of a coffee bar.
Saturday’s visitors will receive a complimentary beverage as they listen to live music by the New Life Worship Band and enjoy resident artists’ demonstrations.
They also can enter raffle drawings for artwork and sign up for upcoming classes at the counter.
Raffle tickets can be purchased anytime at the gallery, 115 E. Railroad Ave., during regular business hours — 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day — today through Sunday.
One of a Kind took residence in September in the space that once housed Heatherton Gallery, fulfilling Comeau’s longtime dream.
Adding to the well-known, established artists from Heatherton, up-and-coming artists to One of a Kind include Pam Fries, Antonia Busonera, Helena Rose, Maria Cook, Linda Norris, Annie Sumpter, Hazelle Hout and Pam Dick, according to a news release.
For more information about the grand opening or exhibiting art, email One of a Kind gallery staff at 1ofakindgallery@gmail.com or visit One of a Kind Art Gallery’s Facebook page.
