SEQUIM — The Grand Finale Weekend of the 129th annual Irrigation Festival will run from Thursday through Saturday.

A highlight each year, the Grand Parade set for noon on Saturday will see people span both sides of Washington Street for more than a mile. Nearly 90 entries are expected this year to travel from Dunlap Avenue by KeyBank to the Sequim Village Shopping Center at 651 W. Washington St.

The parade will feature the festival’s royalty, Sequim pioneers, marching bands, floats, local agencies and dignitaries, first responders and more.

Logging Show

The Sequim Logging Show will run concurrently to the festival Friday and Saturday next to Carrie Blake Community Park. Late last year, the show branched off on its own for insurance reasons to become its own 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization.

Organizers said it’s amicable and they hope for a seamless transition that shouldn’t be noticeable to the public.

Truck and tractor pulls will go from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The Logger’s Ball with Brother Townsend will start at 7 p.m. Friday with fireworks at dusk.

The Logging Show will go from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Find more about the Logging Show on Facebook under “Sequim Logging Show.”

Classic Show

Last year, organizers of the Classic Show (cars and trucks of many makes and models) saw its biggest year with 249 entries. This year’s event will return from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 250 Center Park Way.

Registration online is available through Thursday and at the show from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the show.

For more information, visit irrigation festival.com/event/classic-cruiseshow.

Vickie Maples, the festival’s executive director, said there won’t be a cruise along the parade route this year, but organizers hope to rework the event to have it back in 2025.

Historic Walking Tour

Dick Cays and Deborah Keeting-Hansen will lead a tour of Sequim starting at 11 a.m. Thursday, starting at Sequim Museum and Arts, 544 N. Sequim Ave.

Organizers said participants will walk along Sequim Avenue to hear about the city’s history before returning to the museum. Participants are encouraged to come early, with a voluntary donation accepted for the museum.

Golf tournament

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula’s third annual golf tournament is set for 1 p.m. on Friday at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road. The register or sponsor a hole, contact Janet Gray at jgray@bgc-op.org or 360-683-8095.

Operetta finishes run

“The Addams Family” musical will finish its two-week run at Sequim High School’s auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave., this weekend. Shows start at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with tickets online at sequimschools.org or at the door. Adults tickets are $17 each. They are $12 for students with an ASB card.
