Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers offer Spring Concert

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers’ 15th annual Spring Concert, “I Will Rise,” will sound off its first notes at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Open seating tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased from gospel singers members; in person at Port Book and News, 194 E. First St.; Joyful Noise Music Center, 112 W. Washington St.; by email at pmgs tickets@gmail.com; by calling Steve Campbell at 360-809-3335; or postmarked to: PMGS Tickets, P.O. Box 2874, Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Inside doors to the Port Angeles High School Performing Art Center’s auditorium at 304 E. Park Ave., will open at 6:15 p.m.

The concert will convey “a clear gospel message” for concertgoers to “come and be lifted up,” organizers said.

David Isaac Rivers will begin to elevate the night’s spirits with his original Americana folk worship music.

The singers will then perform such favorites as “I am Persuaded” and “How Great Thou Art,” and a string quartet will join the singers on three numbers.

Songs sung in Spanish and Nigerian also will be featured.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the singers will tip their tams with a performance of “O Danny Boy.”

The featured guest from the 2017 Christmas concert, Ava Peterson, will join the gospel singers again to perform “You Raise Me Up.”

According to a news release: “These beautiful songs can remind us of the promises of God, of who God is, and who we are because of God’s promises.”
