Port Angeles Community Players to put on ‘As You Like It’

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Community Players will stage a production of “The Curate Shakespeare As You Like It” with shows at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays and matinees at 2 p.m. Sundays through July 28.

The play, written by Don Nigro, will be on the main stage at the Port Angeles Community Playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Tickets are $18 per person, $9 for students at www.pacommunityplayers.org or at the box office 30 minutes before each performance.

The play is about a theater company’s struggles to bring Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” to the stage.

The Players will bring romance, wrestling matches, a crying clown, rapid costume changes, a ukulele debut and a catastrophe of spiraling events to their stage.

“This was the first community play I directed, right out of college,” director Anna Anderso said. “Best experience of my life. Now I’ll be doing it with a mostly female cast and I. Can’t. Wait.”
