Port Townsend to begin season of free outdoor summer concerts

Port Townsend will begin its season of free outdoor concerts next week.

On Thursday, in addition to free outdoor concerts at Pope Marine Park Plaza, the Port Townsend event offers a beer, wine and cider garden for those 21 and older.

The media sponsors are Peninsula Daily News and KPTZ 91.9 FM.

Sequim and Port Angeles concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. while Port Townsend’s venue opens at 4:30 p.m. with the music performed live from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Guests are welcome to bring chairs and blankets as well as picnics.

Sequim’s Music in the Park concert on Tuesday at the James Center for the Performing Arts bandshell at Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 N. Blake Ave., will feature the John Hoover & The Mighty Quinns.

Port Angeles’ Concert on the Pier on Wednesday will feature The RT’s on City Pier at Lincoln Street and Railroad Avenue.

The Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts puts on the series, which will include youth activities, food vendors and an expanded beer garden.
