COYLE — Sky in the Road, a folk band from Portland, Ore., will perform at Saturday’s Concert in the Woods.
The all-ages concert, by donation, begins at 7:30 p.m. at Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be served at intermission.
“Daniel Rhiger and Rahmana Wiest write and perform songs in that magical place where heaven meets earth, the blend of ethereal and rhythmic, of eternal and temporal — where the Sky meets the Road,” says the band’s website at www.skyintheroad.com.
Rhiger plays guitars and bouzouoki, while Wiest plays the harmonium. Ben Rhiger performs on the upright bass, Olivia Duffy on mandolin and fiddle, and Molly Lehrkind on cello.
“It’s no secret that I love folk bands, and this next concert features an amazing one called Sky in the Road,” organizer Norm Johnson said.
“Daniel Rhiger and Rahmana Wiest have assembled five of the best talents in Portland [Ore.] to build a unique multi-instrument and multi-voice folk group,” Johnson said.
“You are going to love the full sound and pleasing harmonies that they have created.”

Sky in the Road has released several CDs including “Time Travels,” “Celtic Gypsy,” “Where Everything is Music” and their 1996 debut, “Sky in the Road.”
