Sequim artists host art faire on Saturday

SEQUIM — Peninsula ART Friends will host its second annual Art Faire from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The group of water-media and multi-layered collage artists in Sequim will offer their work in booths outside the Sequim Museum & Arts at 544 North Sequim Ave.

”Last year we started this faire to encourage tourists to visit Sequim during the Labor Day Weekend to support local businesses and local artists after a dismal two-year Covid quarantine,” organizers said in a press release.

The Sequim Museum & Arts is not only hosting the event on Saturday, but will display work by the Peninsula ART Friends during the month of September in the Judith McInnes Tozzer Gallery.

“Members have a unique way of looking at their world and bring that distinctive perspective to their art,” according to the release.

Saturday’s fair will offer pottery, floral silk paintings/scarves, fused glass/wire-wrapped jewelry, woodworking, original paintings/prints, greeting cards, sculptures, miniatures.

Art donated by the artists will be raffled off to support the Olympic Peninsula Art Association (OPAA) youth scholarship fund and Sequim Museum & Arts.
