Textile artists’ meet-and-greet set for Port Townsend farmers market

PORT TOWNSEND — Surface Design Association artists will discuss their artwork and sell hand-crafted items at the Port Townsend Farmers Market on Saturday.

This is the final meet-and-greet of the year for the textile artists.

Sue Gale of Port Townsend, Jeri Auty of Port Ludlow and Evette Allerdings of Port Angeles will be at the Surface Design Association (SDA) booth at the market, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tyler and Lawrence streets.

Because the chapter’s booth is adjacent to its permanent exhibit window on Tyler at Lawrence in Uptown Port Townsend, the SDA representatives also can provide contact information for the Jefferson, Clallam and Kitsap county artists whose wearable and decorative art will be for sale in the window through Dec. 31.

Those interested also can visit “Art as Gifts” virtually and contact the artists at www.sda-np.com/art-as-gifts.

The SDA-NP “Fiber Habit” window, which has a new 24/7 walk-by exhibit every two or three months, is made possible by space provided by Port Townsend residents Charley Kanieski and Liz Hoenig.

Members of the chapter meet monthly, COVID protocols permitting, with meetings rotated between Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles.

Check www.sda-np.com/meetings for the January schedule and venue. Guests are welcome.
