PORT ANGELES — Tickets are on sale for the United Way of Clallam County’s Galentine’s Day gala.
The annual fundraiser is set for Feb. 8 at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

This year’s theme is “Women Are Lifting Women Up.”
The speakers are:
• Debra Haller, co-owner of NW LOG-istics, who will discuss her experiences in the male-dominated timber industry.
• Stephanie Polly, founder of East to West Bakery, who will talk about building a successful business from the ground up.
• Amie Batton, dean of transitional studies at Peninsula College, who will discuss breaking the cycle of poverty and addiction to achieve professional and academic success.
The gala also will feature cocktails and mocktails, charcuterie centerpieces, an hour of DJ-fueled dancing, a dessert dash, a dinner buffet, swag bags and a silent auction.
Ticket, table and sponsorship sales will help single mothers find quality, affordable childcare; enable victims of domestic violence install Ring cameras at their front doors; and provide children with access to healthy food when school is not in session.
Silent auction items such as vacation rental stays, photography sessions, professional services, salon gift certificates, spa treatments, massages, gift certificates to local restaurants, handmade jewelry, self-care packages, luxury pet gifts or gift baskets are welcomed.
Also sought are baked goods or desserts for the dessert dash.
