Tossed Salad extravaganza on Friday

PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Historical Society and Radio Port Townsend’s KPTZ 91.9 FM will co-host the Tossed Salad Holiday Extravaganza on Friday.

The variety show will be from noon to 5 p.m. at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History in historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

Phil Andrus, host of the weekly variety show Tossed Salad, will broadcast live from the museum for the station’s third annual holiday celebration of local music and lively personalities.

This is an all-ages free event. A $5 suggested donation would benefit both JCHS and KPTZ Radio.

This year’s lineup kicks off with jazz vocalist Carla Main, includes interviews with Key City Public Theatre luminaries, a performance by kid-favorite Harmonica Pocket and a reading by Deborah Kate Hammond, among other attractions.

Guests can make holiday cards with a printmaking open studio in the classroom and the entire museum will be free and open for all attendees to explore, including the “creepy jail.”

The museum gift shop will be open with major discounts on books and other merchandise. Gift wrapping will be available.

The main floor of the museum is ADA accessible with an entrance off Madison Street to an elevator.

In addition to the event’s live broadcast at 91.9 FM, the five-hour show can be streamed at KPTZ.org.

Event sponsors are Port Townsend Main Street Program and the Port Townsend Film Festival.
