Your Community Variety Show moves to grange hall

SEQUIM — Your Community Variety Show will relocate to the Sequim Prairie Grange beginning Tuesday.

The free, two-hour show starts at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the grange hall at 290 Macleay Road.

Show launched in September

Since the show’s launch last September, it had been held at the old Dungeness Schoolhouse.

Michael Bunnell, organizer and host of the show, cited convenience, better access, larger seating capacity and lack of stairs among the reasons for the change of venue.

Since the beginning, the program has showcased musicians and singers, poets and storytellers, actors and dancers, and novelty acts.

‘Amazingly talented friends and neighbors’

“It’s an old-fashioned friends-and-neighbors event, and we have a lot of amazingly talented friends and neighbors,” Bunnell said.

He added that the mix of performers will continue to include local professionals as well as talented amateurs.

He also hopes to recruit more young performers such as individual or ensemble acts from local schools.

The variety show is a free gift to the community from Skookum Bay Productions, a division of Skookum Bay Publishing, in conjunction with Joyful Noise Music Center.

Information for performers and audience members is available by email at sbyprod@olypen.com or by telephone at 360-681-2686.
