The Peninsula has positively supported refugees from Ukraine.

It is dismaying to see support for Russia in the Republican extreme right rather than support for its victim, Ukraine.

These extremists blame NATO and Ukraine for Russia’s invasion.

Impelled by Russia’s neighbors, NATO expanded after the breakup of the USSR.

Who knows Russia better than its neighbors?

History shouts loudly that Russia will come again to take whatever it wants as it did under the tsars and under Communism and under Putin.

The neighbors of Russia in eastern Europe and Asiatic Russia and the Caucasus couldn’t wait to try to get under NATO’s umbrella.

Putin tore up the treaty whereby Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons in exchange for Russia’s absolute guaranty of its borders.

He blithely grabbed the Crimea.

Not satisfied, he bit off more of Ukraine and then decided to take it all.

Putin claims he is protecting Russian minorities. He doesn’t mention that historically native populations were deported to Siberia or elsewhere to make room for Russian settlers.

I once believed there were Republicans strong enough to resist this dangerous nonsense. Once Putin digests Ukraine, are we prepared to take in refugees from Moldavia or Poland?

Musk, Trump, Vance (MTV), hollow men absent moral principles, are crafting America’s Munich.

I call for a national plebiscite on this cowardly betrayal and call on the Democratic Party to tell the world that it will tear up MTV’s sale of American honor.
