As the local elections draw near, I would like you to consider what kind of city we want to be.
In the last few years, there have been statements and efforts in the city council that look and sound more like Seattle than Port Angeles.
In August 2020, there was a push to change the Public Safety Advisory Board into a supervisory board with investigation authority over the police department.
This was championed by Port Angeles City Council incumbent Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin and wife.
In March 2021, Schromen-Wawrin pushed the city council to determine wage levels for private business in the city.
In June 2020 in discussions over the waterfront trail, he continued to push an alternative path in spite of the overwhelming support for the current trail.
A few weeks ago, Schromen-Wawrin read a statement at the close of the council meeting listing his academic qualifications giving him the right to arrogantly lecture those that do not agree with the vaccine mandates.
Schromen-Wawrin has revealed a woke progressive bent that would probably be more at home in Seattle or Portland.
It is time for a change.
