LETTER: Freedom can be loud

At 9 a.m. on the overcast morning of Dec. 19, I stood on my sidewalk and heard four U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler jets fly over Sequim View Cemetery at 1,000 feet as part of the Wreaths Across America event to honor veterans.

Whenever I hear the Growlers, I pray for the safety of the brave men and women who fly them.

As they roared over my husband’s grave that morning, I began to remember that for now, even in 2020, America is still the land of the free and the home of the brave. And yes, sometimes freedom is loud.
