I recently spent 11 days at Olympic Medical Center hospital as the result of a car/bicycle collision.
I arrived at the emergency room, had a major surgery and then recuperated in a patient room.
To each person, from emergency room staff., surgeon, nursing staff, physical therapy and custodial staff, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and eager to please.
We laughed, cried, told stories, and worked diligently on getting me on the road to recovery.
Every visit to my room ended by the staff saying “Is there anything more I can do?”
How comforting to have not one, but several of the people caring for me, say, “I was born here.”
From my experience, the Olympic Medical Center is more than a hospital, it’s a community institution, providing not only medical care, but also employment to people who love the mountains, water, and all the outdoors offers.
It shows the best of Clallam County.
Oh, and the food.
Every meal was terrific, like dining in a fine restaurant, with a view of the Strait and Vancouver Island.
Thank you Olympic Medical Center.
